Ingredients
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 1 cup water
- 3 large apples, peeled and chopped
- 3 tbsp cornstarch
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, mix brown sugar, sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, and water. Add chopped apples and stir until well combined.
- Heat the mixture over medium heat until boiling. Reduce heat to low and simmer for about 10 minutes until apples are tender.
- Remove 1/2 cup of the cooking liquid into a small bowl; mix with cornstarch until smooth. Pour back into the saucepan.
- Cook on low heat while stirring constantly until the salsa thickens to your liking.
- Serve warm or chilled with cinnamon sugar chips or as a topping for desserts.
