- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 2 ¼ cups powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract for frosting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 15 x 10 x 1 inch baking pan by spraying it with non-stick spray.
- In a stand mixer, cream together softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs, mashed ripe bananas, and vanilla extract; mix until well combined.
- In another bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture into the wet ingredients until fully combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for about 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Allow to cool completely on a cooling rack.
- For the frosting, beat together softened butter and cream cheese until smooth. Gradually add powdered sugar and vanilla extract; mix well until creamy.
- Spread the frosting over cooled banana bars before slicing into squares.
