- 1 pound turkey bacon
- 1 tablespoon tallow or turkey bacon grease
- 1 pound boneless sirloin (cut into bite-sized chunks)
- 1 pound ground beef
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin (optional)
- 1 teaspoon chili powder (optional)
- Kosher salt (to taste)
Instructions
- Cook turkey bacon until crispy; set aside.
- Heat Dutch oven over medium-high heat; add tallow or grease.
- Sear sirloin chunks until browned; remove from pot.
- Brown ground beef with optional spices for about 15 minutes.
- Return sirloin to pot; add beef broth to submerge ingredients.
- Bring to a boil, then simmer uncovered for 30 minutes.
- Crumble reserved turkey bacon into chili; season with kosher salt.
- Serve hot topped with cheese, sour cream, or additional crumbled bacon if desired.
