Instructions
- Melt the butter in a large pot over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté until translucent (about 5 minutes).
- Stir in flour to create a roux; cook for 2 minutes until lightly golden.
- Gradually whisk in chicken broth, ensuring no lumps remain, and bring to a simmer.
- Reduce heat to low and stir in heavy cream until well combined.
- Add chopped cooked chicken and drained sauerkraut; mix well.
- Stir in shredded cheese and dressing until melted and creamy.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste, then let it simmer for another 10 minutes.
- Serve hot, garnished with rye croutons and chopped parsley.
