Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 medium onion, grated
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried sage
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons vinegar substitute
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 2 tablespoons olive oil

- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/4 cup maple syrup

Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix the ground beef, breadcrumbs, grated onion, minced garlic, smoked paprika, dried sage, egg, vinegar substitute, salt, and pepper until just combined. Form into 16 meatballs.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Brown the meatballs for about 6 minutes on all sides; set aside.

- For the sauce, deglaze the skillet with fruit juice or vinegar, then stir in maple syrup and chicken stock. Simmer and return meatballs to cook through (8-10 minutes).
