Ingredients
- 2½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 tsp ground cinnamon
- ¼ cup brown sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup buttermilk
- ⅓ cup brown sugar (for swirl)
- 1 Tbsp ground cinnamon (for swirl)
- 2 Tbsp melted butter (for swirl)
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 2–3 Tbsp milk (for glaze)
- ½ tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and brown sugar.
- In a large bowl, cream softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla extract.
- Alternate adding the dry mixture and buttermilk to the wet mixture until just combined.
- In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter for the swirl.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan; add dollops of the cinnamon mixture and swirl gently. Top with remaining batter.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool before glazing with powdered sugar mixed with milk and vanilla.
