  • ¼ cup brown sugar
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • ⅓ cup brown sugar (for swirl)
  • 1 Tbsp ground cinnamon (for swirl)
  • 2 Tbsp melted butter (for swirl)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 23 Tbsp milk (for glaze)
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and brown sugar.
  3. In a large bowl, cream softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla extract.
  4. Alternate adding the dry mixture and buttermilk to the wet mixture until just combined.
  5. In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, cinnamon, and melted butter for the swirl.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan; add dollops of the cinnamon mixture and swirl gently. Top with remaining batter.
  7. Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool before glazing with powdered sugar mixed with milk and vanilla.
