- 1 1/2 cups creamy peanut butter
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 1/3 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 2 tablespoons milk (or more)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups milk chocolate chips
- 2 tablespoons shortening
Instructions
- Prepare your workspace by covering a cookie sheet with wax paper.
- In a mixing bowl, blend peanut butter and powdered sugar using a high-speed mixer until smooth.
- Add melted butter, milk, vanilla extract, and salt; mix until a soft dough forms.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about ½ inch thick and cut into egg shapes. Freeze for one hour.
- Melt chocolate chips and shortening in a microwave-safe bowl until smooth, stirring frequently.
- Dip each frozen peanut butter egg into the melted chocolate using two forks to coat evenly.
- Place coated eggs back on the wax paper and chill in the refrigerator until chocolate hardens completely.
