Ingredients
- 4 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup sugar, divided
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup milk
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- Cinnamon and nutmeg for sprinkling (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine sliced peaches, 1/2 cup sugar, lemon juice, vanilla extract, and cornstarch. Toss gently until coated.
- In another bowl, mix flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, and salt. Gradually whisk in milk and melted butter until smooth.
- Pour the batter into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Spoon the peach mixture over the batter evenly.
- Sprinkle with cinnamon and nutmeg if desired. Bake for 40-45 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving; top with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
