- 1 lb lean ground beef (80% lean)
- 1/2 cup plain breadcrumbs
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 2 cups low-sodium beef broth
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 3 tbsp water
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, onion, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until fully incorporated.
- Shape the mixture into one-inch meatballs and place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- Bake for about 20 minutes until browned and cooked through.
- Meanwhile, make the gravy by simmering beef broth and Worcestershire sauce in a saucepan over medium heat.
- In a small bowl, combine cornstarch and water; stir into the simmering broth until thickened (about 5 minutes).
- Gently add baked meatballs to the gravy and let simmer together for a few minutes before serving.
