- 4 bone-in chicken pieces (thighs or drumsticks)
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- Oil for frying (vegetable or canola)
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken in buttermilk mixed with salt and pepper for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- In a bowl, combine flour, garlic powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper.
- Dredge each marinated chicken piece in the seasoned flour until fully coated.
- Heat oil in a skillet to about 350°F (175°C).
- Fry chicken pieces for 12-15 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through (internal temperature should reach 165°F/75°C).
- Drain on paper towels before serving.
