Ingredients
- 1 TBS olive oil
- 70 g chopped onion
- 450 g ground beef
- 80 g green or yellow pepper chopped
- 145 g red pepper chopped
- 3 cloves minced garlic
- 1 cup canned crushed tomatoes
- 1.5 cup beef broth
- 2 cups water
- 1/2 teaspoon salt or more to taste
- Pepper to taste
- 1 tsp ground paprika
- 1 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 TBS freshly chopped parsley
Instructions
- In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until golden brown.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned thoroughly.
- Incorporate chopped bell peppers and minced garlic; stir until fragrant.
- Pour in crushed tomatoes, beef broth, water, and all spices except parsley; stir well.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then cover and reduce heat to medium. Let simmer for 20 minutes.
- Taste the soup; adjust seasoning if necessary and cook uncovered for an additional 5 to 10 minutes.
- Stir in freshly chopped parsley before serving hot.
