- 4 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced

Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Peel and slice the peaches.
- In a large pot over medium-high heat, combine peach slices, 1 cup sugar, and ½ cup water. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for about 10 minutes.
- Melt the butter in a baking dish in the preheated oven.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together remaining sugar, self-rising flour, and milk until smooth.
- Pour the batter over the melted butter without stirring.
- Spoon the peach mixture over the batter; do not stir.
- Sprinkle with cinnamon if desired, then bake for 30-40 minutes until golden brown.
