- ½ cup brown sugar

- 2 cups peaches (sliced and peeled)

- ¾ cup sugar
- 1 egg (room temperature)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 ¼ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 ¼ teaspoons baking powder
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ½ cup milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9-inch round cake pan by spraying it with nonstick cooking spray and lining the bottom with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, mix brown sugar and melted butter, then spread this mixture evenly over the parchment paper in the prepared pan. Arrange sliced peaches over the sugar mixture.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat room temperature butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add in the egg and vanilla, mixing until fully incorporated.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually combine dry ingredients into the wet mixture while alternating with milk until well-mixed.
- Pour the batter over the arranged peaches and bake for about 50 to 55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow cooling before inverting onto a plate to serve.
