  • 2 lb thinly sliced sirloin steak or boneless beef chuck roast
  • 1 cup beef stock
  • 1/2 cup reduced sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 4 tbsp cornstarch
  • 4 tbsp water
  • 1 bag (12 oz) frozen broccoli florets
  • Cooked white rice (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the ingredients by slicing the beef and mincing the garlic.
  2. In a bowl, mix together beef stock, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and garlic.
  3. Place sliced beef in the slow cooker and pour the sauce over it.
  4. Cook on low for 5–6 hours until beef is tender.
  5. About 30 minutes before serving, mix cornstarch with water and stir into the crock pot to thicken the sauce.
  6. Add frozen broccoli during the last 20 minutes of cooking.
  7. Serve hot over cooked rice if desired.
