Ingredients
- 10 tbsp butter
- 1 ½ cups dark chocolate chips or chunks
- 1 cup sugar
- ¼ cup dark brown sugar
- 3 eggs (room temperature)
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- ¾ cup all-purpose flour
- ⅓ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp kosher salt
- Candy eyes for decoration
- 20 oz semi-sweet or milk chocolate chips
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- Heavy cream to thin icing
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and line a 9 x 9 inch cake pan with parchment paper.
- Melt the butter and dark chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring until smooth.
- Beat the eggs in a stand mixer until frothy; mix in the melted chocolate mixture, sugars, espresso powder (optional), and vanilla.
- Combine the dry ingredients (flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, salt) into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan and bake for about 25–30 minutes; cool before cutting into squares.
- Dip cooled brownies in melted semi-sweet or milk chocolate mixed with coconut oil. Set on a baking sheet to harden.
- Decorate with icing to create bandages and attach candy eyes.
