- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon almond extract (optional)
- ¾ cup strawberry jam or preserves
- Sprinkles (for decoration)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together softened butter and both sugars until fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time along with vanilla extract.
- Gradually mix in dry ingredients until just combined.
- Scoop about 1 tablespoon of dough, flatten into discs, and create wells in half.
- Fill each well with approximately 1 teaspoon of strawberry jam and top with another disc to seal.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until edges are lightly golden; cool before serving.
